Thanks for taking action on behalf of charter schools! We appreciate your efforts to help stop this bill. I did want to clarify that while all bills have to go to the Rules Committee in each house, that’s a technical process where the bill gets “referred” to its policy committee. So while Senate Rules will “refer” AB 1172 to the Senate Education Committee, it is not until the Senate Education Committee schedules a hearing for the bill that a policy vote will take place on the bill. I encourage you to continue notifying your elected representatives directly about your position on the bill, and to be ready to contact members of the Senate Education Committee when the bill is set for a hearing later this spring.
